Melissa M. Murfin PA-C, PharmD

  Melissa Murfin is licensed in the State of Florida as both a physician assistant and a clinical pharmacist. She currently works in a highly specialized endocrinology practice, the Thyroid and Endocrine Center of Florida, which is focused on thyroid and parathyroid disorders only. Along with her supervising physician, she sees patients and performs thyroid ultrasound.

  A native of Florida, Dr. Murfin received her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Central Florida in Molecular and Microbiology. She also completed a dual Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Murfin has previously worked as a clinical pharmacist and in the area of clinical research. She is also a drug information specialist with Prescriber’s Letter, writing CME. Dr. Murfin is a member of American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants, American College of Clinicians, Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists and American Mensa Society.

  In her spare time, Dr. Murfin enjoys being with her husband and two daughters. She also is a runner, having completed (thus far!) one marathon, 5 half marathons, and numerous shorter distance events.
